Matt Simmons redogör här för det faktum att marknaden i realiteten inte klarar att på ett korrekt sätt prissätt världens viktigaste och mest handlade vara. Implikationen av detta är i sin tur att med fel prissättnings signaler ges helt fel incitament till den reala ekonomin. Med fel pris signaler till den reala ekonomin så stavas detta felaktigt resursutnyttjande.
Simmons säger här att Mexico som idag USA importerar tredjen mest olja från idag redan om 18 månader kommer att bli en netto importör av olja.

Det som gör just matt Simmons så intressant att han arbetat i olje industrin och att han sedan 1973 arbetat som investment banker med fokus på oljebolag.
