For more than 5,000 years, since the beginnings of the first agrarian empires, humans have used elaborate credit systems to buy and sell goods—that is, long before the invention of coins or cash. It is in this era, Graeber argues, that we also first encounter a society divided into debtors and creditors.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.390625px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.390625px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.390625px;">Graeber shows that arguments about debt and debt forgiveness have been at the center of political debates from Italy to China, as well as sparking innumerable insurrections. He also brilliantly demonstrates that the language of the ancient works of law and religion (words like “guilt,” “sin,” and “redemption”) derive in large part from ancient debates about debt, and shape even our most basic ideas of right and wrong. We are still fighting these battles today without knowing it</span></i><br />

Current press reports focus on PRISM, the NSA’s relationships with the biggest tech companies in the world, and the spilled leaks of Ed Snowden.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
I’ve already laid out serious questions about Snowden’s work history and whether he’s told the truth about it.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Is it likely he could have accessed and snatched thousands of highly classified NSA documents?</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
“Let’s see. Who’s coming to work for us here at NSA today? Oh, new whiz kid. Ed Snowden. Outside contractor. He’s not really a full-time employee of the NSA. Twenty-nine years old. No high school diploma. Has a GED. He worked for the CIA and quit. Hmm. Why did he quit? Oh, never mind, who cares? No problem.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
“Tell you what. Let’s give this kid access to our most sensitive data. Sure. Why not? Everything. That stuff we keep behind 986 walls? Where you have to pledge the life of your first-born against the possibility you’ll go rogue? Let Snowden see it all. Sure. What the hell. I’m feeling charitable. He seems like a nice kid.”</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Here is a more likely scenario.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Snowden never saw any of those thousands of documents on an NSA computer. Never happened.</div>
<ul class="yiv3058182219ppani" style="float: left; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 9px; line-height: 18.1875px; list-style: none; margin: 0px 0px 0px 25px; outline: 0px; padding: 12px 12px 12px 0px; text-align: center; text-transform: capitalize;">

<li style="list-style-type: none; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><div id="yiv3058182219div-gpt-ad-1358358361506-1" style="height: 250px; outline: 0px; width: 300px;">
</div>
</li>
</ul>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Instead, he was either used or volunteered as a CIA operative to carry the endless turf war between CIA and NSA a new step forward. People at the CIA WERE able to access those NSA documents and they gave the documents to Snowden and he ran with them.</div>
<div id="yui_3_7_2_1_1371124775934_5869" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
This was a covert op launched by the CIA against a chief rival, the NSA. NSA, the agency that’s far bigger than the CIA. NSA, the agency that’s been taking over intelligence gathering, that considers itself superior to everybody else in the intelligence field.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
The CIA, of course, couldn’t be seen as the NSA leaker. They needed a guy. They needed a guy who could appear to be FROM the NSA, to make things look worse for the NSA and shield the CIA.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
They had Ed Snowden. He had worked for the CIA in Geneva, in a high-level position, overseeing computer-systems security. People would later assume he had the wherewithal to get into NSA files and steal documents all by himself.</div>
<div style="font-family: verdana, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Somewhere in his CIA past, Ed meets a fellow CIA guy who sits down with him and says, “You know, Ed, things have gone too damn far. The NSA is spying on everybody all the time. I can show you proof. They’ve gone beyond the point of trying to catch terrorists. They’re doing something else. They’re expanding a Surveillance State, which can only lead to one thing: the destruction of America, what America stands for, what you and I know America is supposed to be. The NSA isn’t like us, Ed. We go after terrorists for real. That’s it. Whereas NSA goes after everybody. We have to stop it. We need a guy…and there are those of us who think you might be that guy…”</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
During the course of this one disingenuous conversation, the CIA is killing 37 innocent civilians all over the world with drones, but that’s beside the point. Ahem.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Ed says, “Tell me more. I’m intrigued.”</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
He buys in.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
And what his CIA handler said, in his completely cynical self-serving way, is true. The Surveillance State isn’t about catching terrorists.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-weight: bold;">At a quite insane level, it’s about a partial science trying to become a complete science. It’s about the vision of systems engineers:</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 19px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-weight: bold;">To be able to predict and control the actions of any and every human.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 19px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-weight: bold;">Can enough useful information on Human Being X be compiled, collated, and analyzed, quickly, that would enable overseers to know what Human X is going to do—and to redirect his next action?</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 19px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-weight: bold;">His next action and future actions?</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
To put it another way, minds who are enraptured by the Matrix want to make that Matrix even tighter and more nearly perfect.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
They want to play 100-dimensional chess with most difficult piece on the board as the main target: the human. They want to see whether they can operate that piece and work it and predict it and control it and win the game.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Winning the game means reducing 100-dimensional chess to a closed system.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
This is what the engineers of the Surveillance State are trying to do with the global population.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Why?</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Because they think they can.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Because they work for men who want to own all life.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Because they view individual freedom as a highly convincing illusion they want to invalidate and smash.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
I’m reminded of a 1982 story I did for LA Weekly. I interviewed Bill Perry, who had just quit his job as head of PR for Lawrence Livermore Labs, where they do research on building better nuclear weapons.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Bill cited, as one of his defining moments, a conversations he had with a physicist there who was complaining that the Lab needed more funding.</div>
<div id="yui_3_7_2_1_1371124775934_5871" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Bill said, “Look, we can already blow up the world a dozen times. What else do you need?”</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
The physicist looked up from his desk and said, “You don’t understand. This is a math problem, a physics problem.”</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
That’s the mindset. It’s all about making a better system. Who cares about collateral human damage?</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
When these scientists see freedom, they shrink away from it. It disturbs them. It reminds them they aren’t free. It reminds them they don’t know what freedom is.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
You can even see this in some of more astounding press comments about Ed Snowden. Yes, it was all right that he exposed NSA but…he should have stayed in America and faced the music.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
What?!?</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
A mind-boggling assessment to say the least.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
However, it’s really based on a perception, true or false, that Snowden is currently running around free, uncontrolled.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
And that he has no right to be, because nobody does, outside the range and reach of government.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Freedom is the wild card. “Order must take its place.” That’s what the Surveillance State is all about.</div>
<div id="yui_3_7_2_1_1371124775934_5873" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
“We’ve got these biological machines called humans running around out there and it’s crazy. They’re possibly in possession of something called FREEDOM which is too horrible to contemplate, because I, an obsessive problem solver, long ago sacrificed MY OWN FREEDOM on the altar of…I’ve forgotten. Anyway, wait a minute, these biological machines don’t really have freedom, they’re running on faulty programs….YES, THAT’S IT, and the programs have to be changed, ONCE AND FOR ALL!! Yes, that feels better. There is no such thing as freedom.”</div>
<div id="yui_3_7_2_1_1371124775934_5889" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
“Yes, that’s it. No one is free, it’s all a delusion. There are only good and bad programs, and these billions of human machines are running on bad programs…so we need one central program, one CENTRAL PROGRAM for everybody, and then order will prevail and coordination will prevail, and peace will prevail.”</div>
<div id="yui_3_7_2_1_1371124775934_5875" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
“In order to develop such a program, we need Total Surveillance. We need to observe all these biological machines in their crazy lives, 24/7, wherever they go, whatever they do….and then we can collate that information and analyze it and come up with a solution. Algorithms. A better program. An all-encompassing program. Then we can insert it into the behavior of every human.”</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
The Surveillance State is based on a psychology and a philosophy that has this view of life and human beings.</div>
<div id="yui_3_7_2_1_1371124775934_5877" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
That’s what we’re dealing with. Nothing less.</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
Mass mind control. Operant conditioning. Coercion.</div>
<div id="yui_3_7_2_1_1371124775934_5879" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">
In Orwell’s 1984, that’s what “Big Brother is watching you” was all about. The Surveillance State wasn’t merely curious. It wasn’t merely trying to stamp out terrorists. It was part and parcel of control.</div>
<div id="yui_3_7_2_1_1371124775934_5887" style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.1875px; margin-top: 12px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">

Edward Griffin - The Collectivist Conspiracy<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: 'Century Gothic', Verdana;"><i>G. Edward Griffin is a writer and documentary film producer with many successful titles to his credit. He is well known because of his talent for researching difficult topics and presenting them in clear terms that all can understand. He has dealt with such diverse subjects as archaeology and ancient Earth history, the Federal Reserve System and international banking, terrorism, internal subversion, the history of taxation, U.S. foreign policy, the science and politics of cancer therapy, the Supreme Court, and the United Nations. Mr. Griffin is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he majored in speech and communications. He is also the creator of the Reality Zone Audio Archives, and is President of American Media, a publishing and video production company. Don’t miss this excellent hour as we cover the collectivist conspiracy, including the ideology and nature of a collectivist. We’ll hear about Cecil Rhodes, and the secret society most have no clue about. But first Mr. Griffin explains how the anger of the Occupy movement was misdirected. We also address the subject of capitalism. G. Edward explains how collectivism, replaced capitalism in America a long time ago. We’ll cover the model of collectivism and how it manifests. Mr. Griffin warns of "full term collectivism, "100% government and 0% freedom that will end in totalitarianism. We’ll also talk about Soviet Russia, communism and draw parallels with American and Europe today. The hour ends discussing people’s fear of freedom. G. Edward Griffin offers a solution in the end.</i></span></span><br />

Why do smart folks like Peter Schiff, Ed Griffin and <span class="yshortcuts cs4-visible" id="lw_1354952829_2" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(54, 99, 136); border-bottom-style: dotted; border-bottom-width: 2px; color: #366388; cursor: pointer;">Ron Paul</span> refuse to take a fresh look at this question when they are spouting the same philosophy that J.P. Morgan espoused 100 years ago.</span><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><span id="yui_3_7_2_6_1354952825680_464" style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">My take on Ed Griffin is that he is a patriot and well-intended. He, like Ron Paul, grew up at that time when the von Mises folks were in their ascendency. Their real agenda was hidden. Schiff, Griffin and Paul would have to admit they were wrong. They would have to admit that the von Mises/old school Libertarians were -- at best -- nothing but anarchists -- and worse than that, plutocrats. </span><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><span id="yui_3_7_2_6_1354952825680_465" style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">The von Mises folk believe that the average person is too stupid to effectively participate in self-governance, so, therefore, all governance should default to non-governance??? History clearly shows that a state of non-governance will quickly default into the hands of the few -- the crown and its banks -- plutocracy. In either case, they do not believe in humanity's thousand-year great experiment in self-governance. </span><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><span id="yui_3_7_2_6_1354952825680_466" style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">Freedom is a delicate balance between too much governance and too little. What the von Mises folk won't admit is that serfdom exists at either end of that balance. Von Mises folk don't realize that the anarchism professed openly by Prof. Murray Rothbard & company does not yield maximal human political freedom. Nature abhors a vacuum. Every anarchy in world history is followed in short order by tyranny and maximal centralization of power. </span><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><span id="yui_3_7_2_6_1354952825680_467" style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">Ed Griffin and Ron Paul would rather go to their graves than admit they had swallowed this poison pill of the last 4 decades, hook, line and sinker.</span><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><span id="yui_3_7_2_6_1354952825680_468" style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">I'm studying J.P. Morgan and the Rockefellers right now. Morgan constantly supported the gold standard calling it "sound money." He also considered himself a pirate -- oops, I mean a "privateer" -- in the service of the British Crown and the City. That's why he called all 4 of his yachts, "Corsair", and painted them black. Not surprisingly, he stopped short of flying the "Jolly Roger", however. </span><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><span id="yui_3_7_2_6_1354952825680_469" style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">Gold money is the ultimate centralization of the money power. Yes, it IS sound money. The quantity is easily controlled, but it does not democratize the money power to operate to the benefit of we, the people. It centralizes it into the hands of those few best able to buy up the commodity serving as the monetary base -- gold. This would, in fact, be the bankers.</span><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><span id="yui_3_7_2_6_1354952825680_489" style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">I believe that a sovereign money must serve the public interest -- by definition.</span><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">I believe that gold money does not serve the public interest.</span><br style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;" /><span id="yui_3_7_2_6_1354952825680_470" style="color: #555555; font-family: 'Segoe UI', 'Trebuchet MS', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;">I believe power should be decentralized to the maximum extent which is politically practical. <div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Much is discussed right now about how to reform the monetary system
given the evident flaws we now see appearing in front of our eyes.</span></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US" style="line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Many, many times in history has the economy gotten in to very deep
problems after it has gone back to a e.g. a gold standard. In fact it is not
the fact money today is a fiat rather than something of worth that constitutes
the problem. The real big problem we need to get away from is the privatization
and centralization of money via the private banking interests and first and foremost
get rid of the completely and utterly insane fractional banking system. This as
it allows for private banking interests to create booms and busts (the so
called business cycle) in the economy by the creation of credit that in fact is
money out of this air and that then banks have the nerve also charge interest on that fraudulent
behavior.</span></span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Bottom line:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">in a world where money is defined as welth e.g. gold and or silver - the wealthy has the power</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In a world where money is defined as credit, that is it is loaned in to existens via the fractional banking system as it is today - the private bankers rule the world.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The people rule in a world where the creation of money is made debt free via the goverment in a decentralized faschion far out of reach of centralised private hands. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

Now whats then the solution? Apparently not only more QE but in fact unlimited QE. </span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"><i>Japan was reported its first ever current account deficit, or certainly, its first for many decades. They have a very overvalued exchange rate, a collapsing export sector, an unreformed domestic economy, a debt challenge that makes Greece’s seem easy to solve, a central bank that doesn’t try too hard – currently – to reach its inflation target and, once again, a very weak economy. </i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"><i>And that is without even getting into the complex issues of its relationship with China and other Asian countries, that in principle should be as good for them as those countries are for the rest of us. </i></span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"><i>Prime Minister has told us now 3 times in the last fortnight that <b>he would force the BOJ, if necessary, to pursue a 3% inflation target</b>. </i></span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"><i>This is the sort of thing that many were advising Japan from overseas in the mid to late 90’s when so many people mistakenly lost of lot of money betting against the Yen. Go get all those guys out of retirement as the time has probably come. </i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"><i><br /></i></span>
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16px;"><i>The outlook for the Yen is highly asymmetric. It could either waffle around, or could decline sharply in coming months. <b>It is, in my opinion, the most interesting macro thing out there</b>. I have been getting more and more negative about the Yen for the past couple of years, and I have, so far, been wrong, but it seems more and more obvious to me, that the moment is here.</i></span><span style="font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 16px;"><br /><br />Read more: <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/shinzo-abe-the-boj-and-the-yen-2012-11#ixzz2Db0aN0Bg" style="color: #003399; text-decoration: initial;">http://www.businessinsider.com/shinzo-abe-the-boj-and-the-yen-2012-11#ixzz2Db0aN0Bg</a></span><br />

<i>The history of QE and how it came about:</i><br />

<i>The original Japanese expression for quantitative easing (量的金融緩和, ryōteki kin'yū kanwa), was used for the first time by a Central Bank in the Bank of Japan's publications. The <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bank_of_Japan" style="background-image: none; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: initial;" title="Bank of Japan">Bank of Japan</a> has claimed that the central bank adopted a policy with this name on 19 March 2001.<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantitative_easing#cite_note-IMES2002-25" style="background-image: none; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: initial; white-space: nowrap;">[25]</a> However, the Bank of Japan's official monetary policy announcement of this date does not make any use of this expression (or any phrase using "quantitative") in either the Japanese original statement or its English translation.<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantitative_easing#cite_note-boj.or.jp-26" style="background-image: none; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: initial; white-space: nowrap;">[26]</a> Indeed, the Bank of Japan had for years, including as late as February 2001, claimed that "quantitative easing … is not effective" and rejected its use for monetary policy.<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantitative_easing#cite_note-27" style="background-image: none; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: initial; white-space: nowrap;">[27]</a> Speeches by the Bank of Japan leadership in 2001 gradually, and ex post, hardened the subsequent official Bank of Japan stance that the policy adopted by the Bank of Japan on 19 March 2001 was in fact quantitative easing. This became the established official view, especially after Toshihiko Fukui was appointed governor in February 2003. The use by the Bank of Japan is not the origin of the term quantitative easing or its Japanese original (ryoteki kinyu kanwa). This expression had been used since the mid-1990s by critics of the Bank of Japan and its monetary policy.<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantitative_easing#cite_note-28" style="background-image: none; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: initial; white-space: nowrap;">[28]</a></i></div>

It also bought <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asset-backed_security" style="background-image: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: initial;" title="Asset-backed security">asset-backed securities</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stock" style="background-image: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: initial;" title="Stock">equities</a>, and extended the terms of its <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commercial_paper" style="background-image: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: initial;" title="Commercial paper">commercial paper</a> purchasing operation.<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantitative_easing#cite_note-33" style="background-image: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: initial; white-space: nowrap;">[33]</a></i></div>

<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.4em;">
So given the indded very, very poor track record related to how improvements in the economy correlates to QE stimuli, and then also considering it has now been going on in Japan for well over a decade one would imagine it's time to trye some new approach rather than to contimue with the QE program? Not so it seems the real viable option to the japanese is not only to continue the QE programs but in addition significantely ramp up the scale and scoope.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.4em;">
Insanety - a definition</div>
<div style="background-color: white; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.4em;">

<br />
Time to replace the QE name with a new one. As QE in reality has nothing to do with trying to improve the overall real economy but in fact is all about tryung to save already insolvent banks it should be named something along these lines - <span style="font-size: large;"><i><b>"make taxpayers pay in order to try to delay the imminent and very necessary downzising of the fianancial sector to an acceptable level program".</b></i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><i><b><br /></b></i></span>
Then when the Yen is down the drain next to the slaughter is the dollar as the US in a very predictable pattern has followed the Japanese example and QE approach. Only differencve is that the US as it started to enroll on this scheme approximately half a decade later than the Japanese, still has some time to catch up.</div>
