USA får ca 20% av all sin el från 104 st kärnkraftverk som samtliga byggts INNAN 1979. En fjärdedel av USAs el idag således kommer från "produktions machiner" som i samtliga fall är MINST 29 år gamla och byggda med mer än tre decennier gammal teknik.

Veteran electric utility financial analyst Dan Scotto tror att samtliga dessa verk succesivt nu måste ersättas med nya verk inom en 10 års period.
