Göbekli Tepe: the Rise of Agriculture, the Fall of the Nomad

It is easy to do it, it is not like our beer, all you need is water and if let to stand in some container it will start to produce alcohol. So maybe it was beer making at the beginning.

New evidence suggests that it was not agriculture which created civilization, but religion. The June issue of National Geographic offers a brief and provocative story from a place in Turkey known as Göbekli Tepe, site of the world's oldest example of monumental architecture i.e. a temple.

While the interpretation of archeological remains is often as much art as it is science, there is plenty of reason to believe that in Gobekli Tepe people's need/desire to gather for worship is what created civilization, not the reverse,
as was previously assumed. The Temple existed without a city.

Unexplained 12,000 Year old Underground City

According to Schmidt, it seems that agriculture began here, in the province immediately surrounding Gobekli, sometime around 8,000BC.

This indeed was one of the very first places in the world where people farmed. We know roughly when and where farming began, because of the archæological evidence: domestication is a shock to the physiology of man and beast. The skeletons of people change, they temporarily grow smaller and less healthy, as the human body adapts to a protein-poorer diet and a more arduous lifestyle. Likewise, newly domesticated animals get scrawnier at first.

But 8,000BC, it seems, was also the time when the local landscape began to alter. As the trees were chopped down, and the soil leached away, the area became arid and bare. What was once a glorious pastoral region of forests and meadows, rich with game and wild grasses, became a toilsome place that had to be worked ever harder.

Är det någon annan än undertecknad som mår illa när just en sådan man nu står inför elitens företrädare och öser beröm över sveriges finansiella läge?

Ännu mer förbryllande blir det när man sedan läser att Clinton och detta tydligen på fullaste allvar, menar att orsaken till sveriges starka finanser skall på något sätt kunna härledas till att vi uppfyller miljökraven. Istället är det ju så att svensken övertaxeras å det grövsta vad gäller elpriset samtidigt som statliga Vattenfall under senaste decennierna gått från att ha haft en andel icke förnyelsebar el på ca 1% till att idag istället ha över 50% icke förnyelsebara källor (läs fossila bränslen) som bas för elproduktionen. Vad ligger framgången i detta? Är Clinton tokig, dum i huvudet?

Svaret ligger i att Clinton företräder intressen vars yttersta mål är att omvandla världens medelklass till en slavbefolkning var enda uppgift skall vara att berika den redan ofantligt rika eliten, betala skatt och ränta in i absurdum. Är det någon annan som tycker att man i dessa lovsångs sammanhang av den Svenska ekonomin sedan tenderar att glömma bort en annan person som i alla fall jag anser varit av fundamental betydelse för den idag så gynsamma svenska sitsten?

Faktum är att vi inte alls haft samma fina läge alls om inte vår tidigare finansminister Göran Person så grundligt, resolut och hänynslöst tagit itu med den enorma uppgiften att sanera de svenska finanserna efter vår egna helt inhemskt konstruerade bankkris.

Så Reinfedt och Borg visst har ni förvaltat detta men en stor tacksamhetens tanke skickar vi en dag som denna till mannen som helt sant i riksdagen sade "den som står i skuld är aldrig fri".

Det var kanske detta budskap Clinton skulle ha lyssnat på när han istället genom att hetsa fattiga att ta bostadslån och avreglera finans marknaden gjorde precis tvärt om. Facit på vad resultatet blev ser vi nu idag med all önskvärd tydlighet - en OECD ekonomi på historiska skuld nivåer och på randen av konkurs.

Sedan har vi ju hela den tragiska historien och kopplingen mellan Clinto och Kina.

När staten faller samman, tyngd av oöverstiglig skuld är bästa tiden för oligarken. Det är då som denne för småpengar kan köpa upp allt av värde och bygga omätbara förmögenheter och reel politisk makt. Det var oligarkerna som kom segrande ur det sönderfallande romerska imperiet och det är oligarkerna som bidar sin tid och inväntar rätta tillfället att slå till när nu så många västerlänska stater står på ruinens brant.

Detta är en utveckling som ser och sett likadan ut oavsett när i historien det skett eller om det handlar om i länder eller som nu mer utvecklade länder. I steg ett byggs de gigantiska låneunderskotten upp. I steg två slussa pengarna i allt högre grad och i allt snabbare takt från ffa medelklassen till oligarkeliten genom skatter, avgifter, inflation, valutanedvärdering och nu i modern tid via centralbankerna, världsbanken och IMF. I steg tre använder sedan oligarken, när samhället restruktureras och skulderna måste börja betalas av på allvar, dessa roffade pengar till att köpa löjligt lågt värderade verkliga reala tillgångar och bygger på så sätt upp sin maktbas.

Här en intressant bok som beskriver just dessa skeenden men som historiskt sett kanske är mest intressant för att i Ryssland har "Kjesaren" (Putin) lyckat att ta tillbaka makten från oligarkerna.

I vissa fall kallas även en parlamentarisk demokrati för oligarki, då man genom folkval bestämt vilka fåtal individer som skall fatta beslut åt allmänheten i en enskild sluten grupp.

Tänk vad ett litet utbrott kan ställa till med

Att det händer olika "incidenter" helt oförhappandes titt som tätt och ofta helt utifrån det blå är vi människor vana vid. Fast egentligen inte. Vi har på något sätt fått för oss att allt alltid, i alla fall i västerlandet, skall gå smidigt och som vanligt. Det skall finnas mat i butikerna, tågen och bussarna förväntas gå och morgontidningen skall vi alltid ha till morgonkaffet. Sedan blir vi alltid lika upprörda och tom oförrättade när det som inte kan ske sker tex bussarna slutar gå, tunnelbanan måste ställas in pga kraftigt snöfall. Men i vanliga fall är det just några dagars besvär och sedan snabbt tillbaka till vardagen igen i samma lunk.

Frågan är om det nu verkligen är så denna gång. Jag tänker då naturligtvis på den Isländska vulkanen Eyjafjallajökulls utbrott och det som denna nu ställt till med för europas flygtrafik. Det är en imponerande lista över de vid det här laget stängda flygplaterna runt om i europa där i stort sett enda undantagna stööre flygplater ligger i absolut södraste delarna av europa dvs Italien, Spanien, grekland och Turkiet. Resten är i stort sett nu stängt.

Och inte verkar det bli bättre i morgon. iställer så här säger nu ex experter om läget:

"- När det gäller vindarna på höga nivåer så förväntar vi oss att det mer eller mindre ska fortsätta som hittills. Aska kommer att spridas mot Storbritannien och Skandinavien, sade meteorologen Teitur Arason vid den isländska vädertjänsten till nyhetsbyrån AFP.

- Så ser den allmänna situationen ut för de kommande dagarna... i alla fall för de kommande två dagarna eller kanske de kommande fyra till fem dagarna, fortsatte han.

Luftrummet över Sverige kommer att vara stängt fram till klockan 14 på söndag, meddelar LFV. Därefter tas ett nytt beslut. En ny prognos kommer också under söndag förmiddag. Men läget ser fortsatt mörkt ut, enligt Björn Stenberg vid LFV:s presstjänst.

- I nuläget ser vi inga tecken på att man kan öppna luftrummet, säger han."

Så man talar nu om att detta kan forsätta inte bara till i morgon utan två, tre tom fyra, fem dagar. Där någonstans börjar nu frågan infinna sig - vad skulle hända om en sådan här oförutsedd av ingen förutspådd händelse nu drar ut på tiden i veckor eller tom längre?

Sist denna vulkan hade ett utbrott var 1812 och då varade utbrottet i 13 månader! Och jag som sannerligen inte är någon vulkanexpert har hört att ett worst case scenario skulle innebära att även grannvulkanen Katla får ett utbrott, vilket den enligt vissa får när Eyjafjallajökull satt igång.

Kan man ens tänka sig tanken att stora delar av Europas flygtrafik på detta sätt riskerar att mer eller mindre strängs av under en flera månader lång tidshorisont? Jag tror ingen idag ens kan överblicka de mest grundläggande konsekvenserna för vår idag så globala ekonomi.

Det skulle i så fall inte vara första gången en Islands vulkan skakar om en civilisation. En teori gör ex gällande att det var Isländska Hekla som till sist fick den sista stora Egyptiska civilisationen på fall inte minst genom civila oroligheter genom historiens första dokumenterade strejker orsakade av spannmålsbrist som i sin tur orsakades av sämre skördar pga vulkan utbrottet.

Nu ser vi vårt flyg lamslaget under några timmar och dagar och fortsätter detta längre är det naturligtvis allvarligt men talar vi om månader och tom år så är läget naturligtvis ett annat. Där är det inte längre bara vårt flyg vi talar om utan även ex just växtlighet och skördar, kallare klimat och mindre värme från solen för att inte tala om ev aska på markerna. Från historieböckerna finns angivelser som idikerar att träden i Egypten slutade att växa under nära två decennier och det finns naturligtvis inget som säger att detta skulle kunna bli lika illa men att miljöpåverkan kan bli rätt betydande inser man nu med full kraft.
