Election Fraud Galvanizes Russian Opposition, Communist Party 20 Years After Soviet Union’s Collapse
Allegations of widespread fraud in the recent elections that gave Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party a parliamentary majority have galvanized massive street protests in opposition to the Russian political establishment. This comes on the 20th anniversary of the breakup of the Soviet Union. "The reason that the people who control the financial oligarchy in Russia don’t want free elections is they know that if they had free elections to a parliament, the people would vote for candidates pledging to confiscate their property," which was privatized in the 1990s, says Stephen Cohen, professor of Russian studies at New York University. He notes, "though these elections were not free and fair, they were the freest and fairest in 15 years," and that members of the country’s middle class make up the bulk of the protesters. Cohen also argues the American media has failed to report on the resurgence of the Communist Party, supported mainly by working-class voters in Russia’s vast provinces, which could challenge Putin in the 2012 presidential race and force a runoff election.

EFSF Denies It Is An Illegal Pyramid Scheme
If there is one thing one can say about the insolvent European continent is that despite everything, it is a bastion of truth, and a knight of see-thru disclosure. After all, who can forget such brutally honest statements as "Greece
will not default", or the follow ups: "Ireland is not Greece", "Portugal is not Ireland", "Spain is not Portugal", "Italy is fine", "Italy has turned down money from the IMF", "The IMF has never offered any money to Italy", and then the old standbys, "the ECB will not be a lender of last resort", "the EFSF will use 4-5x leverage", wait, make that "the
EFSF will use 3-4x leverage", and last but not least, "Europe is not America" and "it is all the fault of evil CDS speculators." Well we have one more to add to the list: "the EFSF is not an illegal ponzi scheme" - because after the mindboggling report in the Telegraph yesterday that the EFSF has bought hundreds of millions of its own bonds,
exposing the scam in the heart of the Eurozone for anyone to see, the European rescuer of last resort (at least until the ECB comes out monetizing and Eurobonds are issued)has no choice but to join in the parade of truths and as Reuters reports "said on Sunday that it did not buy its own bonds last week, denying a British newspaper report that it spent more than 100 million euros ($137 million) to cover a shortfall of demand.
"The EFSF did not buy its own bonds and the book was 3 billion euros," an EFSF spokesman said, referring to the 3 billion euros raised in last Monday's 10-year bond issue." We are certain that in order to dispel rumors about its fraud-i-ness, the EFSF will promptly submit a full breakdown of the entities that received bond allocations (we know that Japan is good for €300 million, that China is good for €0.0, and that as Merkel said one week ago, "hardly any countries in G20 have said they will participate in the EFSF." So, because we believe everything that comes out of Europe, we are patiently waiting to see just who it was that bought EFSF bonds when nobody else did. Then isen't it great the people in Greece now are celebrating the fact they have gotten as a replacement for Papandreou a "non-Politician". And I who always thought we where fighting e.g. in Libya in order to get democracy implemented. You know in democracy you elect politicians of your preferences in free elections and then the politicians implement the will of the people. Or at least that's the idea?
Now in the very cradle of democracy Greece the people apparenly are not very much in favour any longer of democracy. So what then do they prefer - well isen'tr it amazin - a non elected politician, a central banker who not ony is a former European Central Banker but also very much indeed was involved in getting Greece in to the Euro.

To claim that these disaffected youths are the vanguard of some organic revolutionary movement is completely asinine. If this is a genuine backlash against the establishment, why are the mobs not congregating around Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament or Buckingham Palace, the real culprits of Britain’s economic degradation. Why instead are they busy filling trolleys full of tennis shoes, mobile phones, along with plentiful supplies of booze and cigarettes from tiny local off-licenses?

The New Super Congress
Man kan onekligen ställa sig frågan varför Republikanerna ställde till med ett sådant politiskt spektakel rörande detta med lånetaket. I en intressant interview som vi kommenterade på denna blogg redogjorde Dr Paul Craig Roberts för sin syn (se länk nedan).
Antingen så förstog inte politikerna det direkt olämpliga att sätta igång ett sådant här spektakel i det prekära läge USA idag befinner sig i eller så är det en medveten politik i syfte, och det är här det börjar bli intressant, att stärka president Obamas makt som en Caesar, enligt Dr Roberts analys. Där ett alternativ om ingen överenskommelse hade skett President Obama helt enkelt tvingats att ta över allt ansvar för detta genom att ignorera Concressen. Precis så som redan tidiagre president Bush gjorde när han utan Congressens medgivande to beslut om att starta kriget i Irak.
Nu blev det inte så. Istället så har ett nytt politiskt lager bildats en sk Superkongress. De skall bestå av total 6 st medlemmar tre från vardera parti och de tar fram sina förslag utan överinsyn från någon annan part och deras beslu kan sedan implementeras dirkt under förutsättning att det ges okey från bägge kamrar.
Detta är vad man kan se som det direkta resultaten av lånetaks diskussionen. Kanske det verkliga syftet? Nu finns ett embryo där denna nya superkongress, inte presidenten i realiteten styr landet. En centrering av makt helt enkelt. Motsvarigeten fanns i det Sovjetiska politiska systemet. Där hette detta Politbyrån.

As low and middle class wages stagnate and unemployment remains above 9%, Republicans and Democrats are tussling over whether to slash funding for the medical and retirement programs that are the backbone of the US's social safety net, and whether to raise taxes — or to cut them further.

Israel Revolution in the works?
Israel's public debt equals 79 percent of its gross domestic product, and its imports 1.25 billion dollars more than it exports. More than 23 percent of Israelis live below poverty line. In other words -- words of the US congress -- Israeli is not “economically self-sufficient.”"Israel is not economically self-sufficient, and relies on foreign assistance and borrowing to maintain its economy.
In addition to US assistance, it is estimated that Israel receives about $1 billion annually through philanthropy, an equal amount through short- and long- term commercial loans, and around $1 billion in Israel Bonds proceeds.
Since 1985, the United States has provided $3 billion in grants annually to Israel. Since 1976, Israel has been the largest annual recipient of U.S. foreign assistance, and is the largest cumulative recipient since World War II,” The Congressional Research Service (CRS) said in a 2003 report titled "Israel: US Foreign Assistance."
Now with the global economic meltdown and weak a post-recession recovery in the US and Israel's other allies, the amount of financial aid and other assistance that Israel can receive is sure to be affected adding fuel to the problems the Israeli regime is already facing.
On Friday, July 29, 2011 hundreds of Israelis held a demonstration in Tel Aviv, warning that they would block roads all over Israel on August 1 if the Netanyahu cabinet fails to meet their demands.
After weeks of widespread protests against high housing prices -- which are evaluated as the largest social protests in Israel since the 1970s -- the Israeli premier announced a series of measures to address the housing crisis last week.
According to a poll published by the Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz, 87 percent of Israelis support the protests over high rents and housing costs.
The survey also showed that Netanyahu's popularity has fallen to 32 percent from 51 percent two months ago with more than half of those surveyed being unhappy with his response to the housing crisis

Debatt: "Jag vill att hyresrätter ska bli lika bra som bostadsrätter”
Min kommentar - den här karln tar ensam fighten mot heta den här myten om att man skall äga sin bostad. En strategi som i det långa loppet bara gagnar bankernas ständiga och helt vettlöst oansvariga utlåning och som alltid resulterar i marknadskrasher som skattebetalarna tvingas att baila ut.
Under tiden har bankerna garanterat sig själva hutlösa löner och bonusutbetalningar. Kvar står alla de unga som sedan inte har någon möjlighet att skaffa sig en egen bostad när inflation och bostadspriser skjuter i höjden.
Alla som är intresserade av att politiskt verka för att hindra den här formen av finansiell terrorism och oönkskad resurs allokering av sammhällets medel skall naturligtvis stödja den här typen av initiativ som nu Akelius verkar för. Fråga din lokala politiker hur han tänker i frågan och om du sedan är beredd att stötta honom.
"Medierna har rapporterat att bostadsbolaget Akelius fastigheter, med 34.000 hyreslägenheter, gett förtur till bostadssökande som sparat på företagets konton. Det är visserligen lagligt, men ett gränsfall enligt bostadsminister Stefan Attefall (KD)."
Roger Akelius svarar med ett angrepp på den svenska förhandlingsmodellen.
"Min dröm är att göra hyreshus så attraktiva att de kan konkurrera med bostadsrätter. Storhetstiden för smäckhus, Moskvamodellen, designade efter de räta linjalernas natt är passerad.
Bostadsministern rekommenderar att bygga studentbostäder med delat kök och billiga tapeter. Jag totalvägrar med refererens till det våld som finns med gemensam tvättstuga.
Jag investerar i ett hyreshus endast om standarden kan bli så hög att jag själv kan bo där. Dessutom ska huset hålla i femtio år.
Jag har en dröm att uppgradera befintliga hus med balkonger, ljusa fönster, parkett, bastu, blommor i nymålad entré, modernt kök, badrum med tvättmaskin, ljussättning i entréer och på fasader. Mer service. Hyresgästföreningen stoppar uppgradering från linoleummatta om jag inte jobbar ideellt.
Hyresgäster har inte avdrag för bolån, inte rotavdrag, inte energiavdrag. I vanlig hyra ingår kostnad för tomma lägenheter, för grannar som inte betalar hyra, för klotter, för bobutiker, för snabba reparationer.
En modern trea, hundra kvadratmeter, i ett nybyggt hus har en årlig finanskostnad av 150.000 kr. Skattesänkning för boende i bostadsrätt jämfört med hyresrätt blir närmare 4.000 kronor per månad. Vem vill bygga hyreshus?
Tänk om biluthyrning i Sverige regleras av Bilhyrarnas förening. Då gäller fasta priser oberoende av biltyp. De som hyr ska ha rätt att hyra ut bilen i andra hand till en klottrande klant och kunna byta hyrbil med stökig kund från annat hyrbilsföretag.
Ägarna av hyrbilar får inte ta betalt för extra finesser som radio, centrallås eller gps. Som hyresgäst är du fråntagen den mänskliga rättigheten att själv förhandla med hyresvärden för att uppgradera med parkettgolv. Föreningen vet vad du behöver och bestämmer ägarens priser.
Som en följd ombildas årligen tiotusentals lägenheter till bostadsrätter, trots att hyresgästföreningar intensivt motarbetar de egna medlemmarnas önskan att:
•sänka månadshyran
•få höjd standard
•få värdestegring
Om några få år upptäcker vi, till vår förvåning, att alla attraktiva hyresrätter har försvunnit.
I Tyskland kan hyresvärden erbjuda lägenheter av skilda kvaliteter inom samma hus. Där kan hyresvärden uppgradera till fina lägenheter och få skäligt betalt. Där finns hyresreglering.
I går sökte 336 kvalificerade en lägenhet i Täby. 37 av dessa har högsta sparpoäng. Ägaren till huset nekade alla sökande utom en. Finns det andra lösningar på detta problem än att bostadsminister och förening trakasserar ägaren av huset?
Min dröm är att tillsammans med ordförande i Hyresgästföreningen och bostadsministern, inte med en utredningsgrupp, utveckla hyresrätter till att kunna konkurrera med bostadsrätt. Tar ni min hand?
Jag kan svaret: ”Ska han säga som har tjänat massor av pengar.” Visst, men grejen kanske inte är att stoppa mig utan ett antal usla bostäder. Låt det bli socialt rätt att förbättra befintliga hyresbostäder annat än på ideell väg".

Under tiden har bankerna garanterat sig själva hutlösa löner och bonusutbetalningar. Kvar står alla de unga som sedan inte har någon möjlighet att skaffa sig en egen bostad när inflation och bostadspriser skjuter i höjden.
Alla som är intresserade av att politiskt verka för att hindra den här formen av finansiell terrorism och oönkskad resurs allokering av sammhällets medel skall naturligtvis stödja den här typen av initiativ som nu Akelius verkar för. Fråga din lokala politiker hur han tänker i frågan och om du sedan är beredd att stötta honom.

Bostadsministern rekommenderar att bygga studentbostäder med delat kök och billiga tapeter. Jag totalvägrar med refererens till det våld som finns med gemensam tvättstuga.
Jag investerar i ett hyreshus endast om standarden kan bli så hög att jag själv kan bo där. Dessutom ska huset hålla i femtio år.
Jag har en dröm att uppgradera befintliga hus med balkonger, ljusa fönster, parkett, bastu, blommor i nymålad entré, modernt kök, badrum med tvättmaskin, ljussättning i entréer och på fasader. Mer service. Hyresgästföreningen stoppar uppgradering från linoleummatta om jag inte jobbar ideellt.
Hyresgäster har inte avdrag för bolån, inte rotavdrag, inte energiavdrag. I vanlig hyra ingår kostnad för tomma lägenheter, för grannar som inte betalar hyra, för klotter, för bobutiker, för snabba reparationer.
En modern trea, hundra kvadratmeter, i ett nybyggt hus har en årlig finanskostnad av 150.000 kr. Skattesänkning för boende i bostadsrätt jämfört med hyresrätt blir närmare 4.000 kronor per månad. Vem vill bygga hyreshus?
Tänk om biluthyrning i Sverige regleras av Bilhyrarnas förening. Då gäller fasta priser oberoende av biltyp. De som hyr ska ha rätt att hyra ut bilen i andra hand till en klottrande klant och kunna byta hyrbil med stökig kund från annat hyrbilsföretag.

Saudi police open fire during protest
CAIRO -- Saudi police opened fire Thursday to disperse a protest in the section where minority Shiites live, leaving at least one man injured, as the government toughened its efforts to prevent a wave of unrest sweeping the Arab world from reaching the kingdom.
The rare violence raised concern about a crackdown ahead of planned protests after Friday prayers in different cities throughout the oil-rich kingdom. Violence there could reverberate through the world's markets because of the importance of Saudi oil exports.
Discord is common between authorities and the country's Shiites, who make up 10 percent of the kingdom's 23 million citizens. They have long complained of discrimination, saying they are barred from key positions in the military and government and are not given an equal share of the country's wealth.
